MC Raptors women's basketball team defeated Cuyahoga Community College 94-59 in game one of the Raptors Holiday Tournament but fell to Nationally ranked Monroe Community College 91-63 in the championship to place second.
In game one against Cuyahoga CC, the Raptors got off to a hot start shooting 52% from the field in the first quarter and held their opponent to just 32 first-half points. Nusaibah Rashad finished with 20 points and 19 rebounds while Odom netted 18 points with 6 rebounds and 6 assists! Alexis Mack added 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists coming off the bench and sophomores Kenydi Cross scored 14 points and Lauren Nelson added a dozen points in the 35-point win.
The Raptors 6-game winning streak came to a halt in the championship game of the tournament where the Raptors faced the Monroe Community College Tribunes out of NY who were ranked 10th in the NJCAA DII Polls coming into the Tournament. The Raptors fell behind early 28-11 after the first quarter and make up the ground to get back into the match. Rashad and Odom each contributed 16 points and Mariah Ellis came off the bench and scored 10 points in the Raptors fourth defeat of the season.
