  • Darren Prebble Receives NJCAA DIII Baseball ABCA/ Rawlings Gold Glove Award

    Germantown, MD - Sophomore outfield Darren Prebble, a McDonogh School graduate, has been selected as a 2018 NJCAA DIII Baseball ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove recipient as determined by the NJCAA Division III Baseball Committee and Rawlings as the nation's top defensive outfielder. Prebble had a fielding percentage of 1.000 for the 2018 season in 43 games played. Prebble registered 56 putouts and three assists during the season, without recording a single error over the course of the season.
  • MC Baseball Coach Hits 400-Win Mark

    Montgomery College graduate Morgan Wootten, one of the winningest coaches in high school basketball history, once said, “The big thing is to make a winning effort. I’m not obsessed with wins.” Like Wootten, MC’s baseball coach Dan Rascher is most proud of his players’ efforts, which include nine trips to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) World Series, 36 All-Americans, seven Rawlings Gold Glove winners, and three Marucci Elite Hitter Award winners. In spite of his attempts to downplay his role, Rascher added an impressive accolade to his coaching resume this year, topping the 400-win mark.
  • Raptors Baseball Finishes 2nd in Region XX Tournament and Fourth in MDJUCO; Four Raptors Receive Postseason Honors

    The Raptors baseball team finished their 2018 season fourth in the MDJUCO with a conference record of 14-12 and an overall record of 29-18. Four Raptors received post-season NJCAA DIII All-Region honors, Ryo Fabre, Clayton Dwyer, and Michael Hovermill were named First Team All-Region and Austin Grass was selected as an All-Region Honorable mention. Clayton Dwyer was the only Raptor to receive an All-Maryland JUCO selection as he was named an All-Maryland JUCO Baseball Honorable Mention. 
  • Coach Rascher Eclipses 400th Career Win as MC Raptors Baseball Team Is Soaring Through April Winning Eight of 12

    The MC Raptors baseball team is soaring through April winning eight of their last 12 games only halfway through April. The Raptors 12-11 thrilling win against Frederick on April 10th marked Coach Rascher's 400th victory as coach of MC baseball. This is quite an achievement for a Division III team playing the majority of games against higher division teams. This is his 13th year as head coach at MC with an average of 31 wins per year.
  • Nationally Ranked Raptors Baseball Sweeps Prince George's CC to Stay Undefeated at Home

    Despite the cold March weather, the Montgomery College Raptors baseball team is red-hot winning nine out of their last 12 games and have a 7-0 record at home. The Raptors are currently in third place in the Maryland JUCO with a conference record of 5-2 and have 12-5 overall record entering the Month of April.  
  • Raptors Baseball Season Starts Off 3-2 in Myrtle Beach, SC

    The Montgomery College baseball season is underway as the team won 3 out of five games in Myrtle Beach, SC. The Raptors won their first two games of the trip on Friday, March 2nd defeating Suffolk Community College 6-5 in the morning and then taking down Manchester University JV 13-5 in the afternoon. On the morning of March 3rd MC had a tough bill against Olney Central, a team that won 40 plus games last season, as the Raptors held their own in the early innings but fell to the club from Olney, IL 10-1. MC quickly bounced back in the afternoon game as they took down Penn State DuBois 4-2. The Raptors finished up their trip against the Kankakee Community College Cavaliers, the reigning DII World Series Champions, where they lost 10-0.
  • 2017-18 Baseball Team Tryouts Start Friday, August 25th

    Tryouts for the 2017-2018 Montgomery College baseball team will start Friday, August 25th at 1:00 p.m. Tryouts will be held on the baseball field at the Germantown Campus. These tryouts are open to all current Montgomery College students. All students must have a current physical on file in order to tryout. Please contact Coach Rascher if you have any questions.
