COLUMBIA, MD – The Montgomery College Raptors women's basketball team opened their 2025–26 season this past weekend at the Howard Community College Opening Tournament, competing in two high-level NJCAA matchups. The Raptors battled hard in both contests, falling to Monroe Community College on Saturday before bouncing back Sunday with a strong win over Tidewater Community College.
Saturday: vs Monroe CC
The Raptors opened tournament play against Monroe Community College (Rochester, N.Y.), facing an experienced opponent in a competitive season debut.
Imani Dennis led MC with 24 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists, showcasing her offensive versatility. Caitlyn Howard was a force inside, collecting a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Freshman forward Londyn Miller provided key minutes off the bench, contributing 8 points and 10 rebounds.
Despite several strong individual efforts, Monroe's depth and transition play helped them secure the win over MC in the opener.

Montgomery College rebounded on Sunday with an impressive performance against Tidewater Community College, earning their first win of the season behind balanced scoring and tough defense.
Imani Dennis once again paced the Raptors, finishing with 19 points, 7 assists, and 4 rebounds. Sanai Massenburg followed with 15 points and 6 rebounds, while Caitlyn Howard dominated the glass, pulling down 14 rebounds to go along with 9 points.
Freshmen Londyn Miller and sophomore Yaheera Williams added crucial energy, combining for 9 points and 13 rebounds, while Arianna Sisk chipped in 5 rebounds and 2 points off the bench.
