Raptors Stay Hot With Fifth Straight Win
Rockville, MD - The Montgomery College Raptors women's basketball team continued their early-season surge on Tuesday night, grinding out a 71–67 home victory over CCBC Catonsville to extend their win streak to five straight games. In a matchup defined by momentum swings, rebounding toughness, and clutch execution, the Raptors showed poise in the key moments to secure another important Region 20 win.
MC came out firing in the opening quarter, using a balanced offensive attack and aggressive pace to jump ahead 22–12. The early lead proved crucial, as Catonsville settled in and responded with consistent scoring through the second and third quarters. The Cardinals' 27-point third quarter briefly shifted momentum, but the Raptors weathered the surge and entered the final frame with a narrow 56–54 advantage.
In the fourth quarter, Montgomery College's defense tightened, holding Catonsville to just 13 points. Timely rebounding and free throws helped the Raptors maintain control in the final minutes, closing out the game and preserving the win streak. The victory showcased the team's depth, resilience, and the ability to find contributions from all parts of the roster.
